The National Council on Rural Aging (NCRA) merged with the National Institute of Community-based Long-term Care (NICLC) in July 2005. Together, members of these NCOA constituent groups will continue their work as special advocates for community-based long-term care in rural America.

The National Institute on Financial Issues and Services for Elders (NIFSE) was a constituent group of NCOA from 1992 to 2003. Its purpose was to create opportunities for professionals working in the financial services industry and professionals working in the field of aging to learn about and from one another. NIFSE is proud to have been part of a decade-long process to educate professionals about "financial gerontology" and to help them develop relationships in their communities to better serve seniors and their family caregivers.
