2010 Prescription for Better Health Awards
October 29, 2009

CVS/pharmacy and NCOA's National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) are now seeking applicants for the third annual Prescription for Better Health Awards.

The deadline for applications is Nov. 30.

These national awards honor senior centers for innovative programs that promote a healthy lifestyle among older adults. Nominations are being accepted in two categories:

Category I: Innovative & Promising Practices

Tell us about an innovative or promising healthy aging program at your center-and how it could be replicated.

One winning senior center will receive $1,500 and up to $1,400 in travel expenses to attend the 2010 Aging in America conference in Chicago, March 15-19. Four honorable mentions will receive $250 each.

All winning centers also will receive one free registration to the 2010 Aging in America conference and a free NCOA/NISC membership or one-year extension for current members.

Category II: Pack Your Bag
(limited to senior centers that have participated in the NCOA/CVS Pack Your Bag program)

Describe a success story, humorous anecdote, special relationship with your CVS pharmacist, or compelling result associated with the Pack Your Bag program at your center. Bring the Pack Your Bag program to life-so others can understand the value it offers.

One winning senior center will receive $1,500-plus one free registration to the 2010 Aging in America conference and a free NCOA/NISC membership or one-year extension for current members.
