NCOA Supports House Health Reform Bill
November 6, 2009

In a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Friday, NCOA President James Firman endorsed the landmark Affordable Health Care for America Act.

After carefully weighing the pros and cons of the House bill, and listening to our constituents, NCOA decided it is a good deal for America’s seniors. H.R. 3962 would improve care for older adults, protect and strengthen Medicare, reduce the number of uninsured Americans, and reform the health care delivery system to cut costs and improve quality — all in a fiscally responsible manner.

Firman also promised, however, to seek further improvements when the bill is merged with the Senate.
