About NCOA
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is the national voice for every person’s right to age well. We believe that how we age should not be determined by gender, color, sexuality, income, or ZIP code. Working with thousands of national and local partners, we provide resources, tools, best practices, and advocacy to ensure every person can age with health and financial security.
Who We Are
Get to Know NCOA
We are on the path to positively impact the health and economic security of 40 million older adults by 2030, especially women, people of color, LGBTQ+, low-income, and rural individuals.
75 Years in the Making
It started with a simple but powerful idea: Older adults should have the resources to live at home and contribute to their communities as long as possible. For 75 years, NCOA has turned that idea into reality for millions of Americans.
The Impact We've Made
Our strategy is simple: keep ourselves accountable by measuring our impact; advance proven solutions that impact the lives of older adults; and scale our work through critical legislative measures, partnering with organizations that share our mission.
Why NCOA Matters
The road older adults travel cannot be wrought with bias, stigma, and seeing us as “less than.” After a lifetime of working hard, raising the next generation, and contributing to our economy and community, we owe it to ourselves to ensure every older adult has the opportunity to age well.
Our Roadmap to Aging Well for All
NCOA’s Public Policy Positions are grounded in the belief that on-the-ground service informs advocacy. They amplify the voices of those who are often invisible and unheard.
Working Transparently and Effectively
NCOA partners with nonprofit organizations, government, and business to provide innovative community programs and services, online help, and advocacy. We provide a yearly update on the organization's mission, governance, management, and programs.
