Let’s Improve Lives ... Together!

NCOA and 150+ community partners across the country have embarked on a joyful, creative journey to help millions of baby boomers and older adults make the most of their gift of longevity.

The longevity bonus is real, yet virtually all of us are living without a playbook for this phase of life. We are not spending our gift of time as well as we could. For example, the average person over age 65 spends 49 hours per week watching television. Imagine if we watched an hour or two less of TV each day and devoted that time to doing things that are good for ourselves and others.

The Aging Mastery Program® (AMP) offers fun, engaging, and life-changing classes that help individuals address three essential questions:

  • How can I make the most of my bonus years by spending my time more wisely?
  • What can I do to be healthier, be more financially secure, and get more out of life?
  • What will I do to help others?

NCOA embraces the process of co-creation, combining the best of what we’ve learned with the wisdom, creativity, and on-the-ground savvy of our community partners. Through rapid-cycle innovation, we are improving the core AMP curriculum, developing elective classes, experimenting with different incentives and rewards, and bringing in faith-based perspectives.

It is a joy to be working with such great partners in 20+ states and very rewarding to hear about the profound effect that AMP is having on people’s lives. It is great fun to be able to hear our partners’ ideas for making the program better, to rapidly put those ideas to the test in community settings and, if they work, to incorporate them into the nationwide rollout of AMP.

So let’s keep going in our quest to co-create the playbook for improving the lives of millions of baby boomers and older adults. The best is yet to come!
