The Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board established the nation's first Mature Worker Council in 2002. Several years later, the Council launched a Mature Worker Pilot Project to address the workforce needs of older adults seeking employment.

This guide comes from the Project. It is meant as an accompanying guide to the Mature Worker Pre-Employment Training Toolbox and has worksheets for facilitators. These worksheets help older adults to:

• Identify their interests and skills
• Consider how to target their experience with the needs of employers
• Prepare for interviews
• Assess whether they are a good fit for the company culture
