Jessica Avilés, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering at Clemson University where she leads the PHASE lab (Pursuing Health through Adaptation, Sports, and Ergonomics). She has spent over a decade specifically focused on improving mobility, balance, and health of individuals with a wide range of physical capabilities including older adults, amputees, and individuals with spinal cord injury. Her work involves incorporating interventions like exercise programs and assistive devices to support physical health throughout the aging process and during different phases of life.
