Kevin Madden has more than 30 years of financial subject matter expertise, with nearly 25 years dedicated to the progressive efforts of nonprofits. Prior to his arrival at NCOA, he was the Chief Financial Officer at the American Psychiatric Association, where he helped the organization advance mental health as part of general health and well-being on behalf of 37,000 members worldwide. 

A results-driven executive with broadly based experience, Kevin has a passion to lead and facilitate continual enhancements and excellence in financial management, human resources, facilities management, information technology, and customer service. His achievements at prior organizations include:

  • Improving transparency and clarity of the budget process and financial reporting
  • Modifying investment policy to incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance, or ESG, principles
  • Developing financial models for strategic initiatives to drive long-term operational success
  • Creating strategically driven pricing strategies

A graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kevin also holds the CAE designation from the American Society of Association Executives as well as the CPA and CGMA designations from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He lives outside of Washington, D.C., with his wife (a fellow Wake Forest graduate). With two grown children successfully launched from the nest, he now uses his free time to improve his golf game.
