Stephanie Brown

Stephanie brings vast knowledge as a strategist, operational leader, and trusted advisor at the C-suite level. With a strong background in program management, strategic planning, and community engagement, she has successfully led initiatives that provide essential resources such as affordable housing, healthcare, education, and mental health to individuals and families in need.
With 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, Stephanie utilizes her expertise in organizational development and stakeholder collaboration to enhance the impact of nonprofit organizations. Her ability to cultivate partnerships, drive operational efficiencies, leverage technology, and implement sustainable programs has made her an invaluable asset both to the organizations she has worked with and to the broader community.
Before joining NCOA, Stephanie was the Chief Strategy Officer at So Others Might Eat, where she led the implementation of the strategic plan and the redesign of the information technology infrastructure.
Her career includes a diverse range of executive leadership roles, encompassing strategy, case management, and consulting. Stephanie's educational background is rooted in the social sciences; she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Science in Social Work with a focus on Gerontology from Howard University. Additionally, she is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a master’s degree in project management from the University of Maryland.
Stephanie is a published author who enjoys mentoring young professionals in project management. She has experience in board planning, governance, and volunteer work. Throughout her career, Stephanie has served on several boards of directors, including Healthcare Access Maryland, the Maryland Boards and Commissions, and most recently, the Interagency Council on Homelessness for the State of Maryland.
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys playing pickleball, reading terrific books, and watching football.
