Key Takeaways

  • Current Benefits Enrollment Centers are invited to rebid on grants to sustain their BEC work.

  • The deadline for sustainability BEC grant applications is July 1, 2021.

NCOA's Center for Benefits Access will provide grants for a 24-month period (October 1, 2021 to September 29, 2023) to Benefits Enrollment Centers (BECs) currently funded through September 30, 2021.

Sustainability grants are only available to current BECs. Applicants previously funded by NCOA as a BEC grantee, but not in the 2020-2021 term, as well as new applicants must apply as a new BEC.

This funding is intended to focus on sustaining the impact of the BEC model beyond the current grant cycle, which includes maintaining effective benefits outreach and enrollment strategies. NCOA welcomes creative proposals for the use of these grants if it achieves the goal of promoting a lasting impact for the BEC.

How to apply

Grants of up to $120,000 each will be awarded to selected organizations. Please refer to the Request for Proposals (RFP) below for application instructions, selection criteria, and the full timeline of the application process.

Applicants are required to submit a simple letter of intent beginning Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 9 a.m. ET.  A link to complete the application will be sent to those who submit a letter. Those who do not submit a letter of intent by the deadline but would like to apply must still submit a letter of intent in order to receive the application guidance. Proposals are due by 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
